Paper Receipt Android SDK 2.4.1
tip
A newer release is available. Paper Receipt Android SDK 2.5.0 adds UPC product lookup, a Trip Resolution merchant fallback, and merchant-detection signals.
2.4.1 is a bug-fix release on top of 2.4.0. It fixes an out-of-memory crash at the end of a scan. There are no API changes and no breaking changes.
Installation
Bump the BOM to 2.4.1. It pairs with Activation SDK 1.2.0, the same version as 2.4.0 (see the Android SDK Version Matrix).
build.gradle.kts
dependencies {
implementation(platform("com.microblink.blinkreceipt:blinkreceipt-bom:2.4.1"))
implementation("com.microblink.blinkreceipt:blinkreceipt-recognizer")
}
The build requirements are unchanged from 2.4.0: compileSdk 37 (or higher) and minSdk 24.
Fixed
- Out-of-memory crash at the end of a scan. While looking up the merchant from a receipt's raw text, a corrupt line index could pad that text with megabytes of blank lines, and preparing it for the lookup then failed on a single allocation of 44 MB to 1 GB. The raw text is now cleaned up as it enters the SDK: runs of more than 100 consecutive newlines collapse to 100, and the text is capped at 262,144 characters, which also bounds how much text
ScanResultsholds for the rest of the session. The merchant lookup additionally caps its own input. Receipt-sized text is untouched, so results for normal receipts are unchanged and no integration changes are required.
Upgrade checklist
- Bump the Paper Receipt BOM to
2.4.1. If you use Activation, keep the Activation BOM at1.2.0.
